what we stand for

Our impact

At Eightyeight Conscious Jewelry, we strongly believe in the power of giving back.
As we get our jewelry made in Bali, we want to keep it close and personal, and contribute to local Balinese charities.

why we care

Who they Are

The Matahari Terbit Center provides children with one-on-one therapeutic progress plans as well as physical, mental and social activities in order to improve their motor skills and increase their independence in as many aspects as possible.

The Matahari Terbit Center is unique, because they have changed the perception of care for disabled children in Bali, especially children with Cerebral Palsy. They provide something that was not available before they started in 2009.

The ‘Happy Therapy’ they provide is free for local Indonesian children. They work mostly with volunteers, who are providing their time, skills and compassion. Their therapy ranges from sports and yoga to arts and music to cognitive exercises, and also physiotherapy. They strive to make the MTC Centre a home away from home, a safe haven of love, care and healing for children with disabilities.

The Matahari Terbit Center has a desire to include, educate and provide tools for low income families in Bali.
This is why we want to raise awareness and help them receive funds, to maintain as well as expand their programs.

Gede Aka is a 17 year old boy with severe Cerebral Palsy (CP). When he first arrived around 6 years ago, his mobility was very limited. With the therapies and love surrounding him, he has made progress. He challenges himself to try and walk with help. He is always smiling and during our morning circle he will join in the singing with clapping.
